Frail Masters hopes for DL3

(Photo courtesy of John Raoux/AP Photo)

Davis is mathematically out of the Masters by something like one four-hundreth of a point. (He's currently 51st in the world ranking.) Is this some kind of bad joke? It's a sad day at the KC, where we'd been hoping for a DL3 resurgence after the Disney win last year - Augusta being one of the spots Davis has a shot on a yearly basis. Note: DL's dad, Davis Jr. contended at the Masters in '64, shortly after which Davis was born.
The consumate golf professional and classic style icon to nearly every player on Tour, Davis has 20 Tour victories, giving him a lifetime exemption into Tour events, unfortunately the Masters is a different story. He has two 2nd place finishes at Augusta. I bet young South African Louis Oosthuizen (#50) can't help but feel slightly guilty for knocking Davis down a rung. There is one last hope - a victory in Houston this week. All 2009 PGA tour winners get in. Best of luck sir!
