Everything I need to know about Golf, I learned in Humble, Texas...

1.) It was great to see Paul Casey win on US soil. He has to be considered a serious Masters contender. Clean, compact, efficient. You thought we were referring to Paul's swing? We were talking about his wardrobe...

2.) ditto on the contender front for Geoff Ogilvy, but we already knew that after the Match Play. (Big ups to David J. Phillip for that photo. It's frame-worthy.)

3.) The old guys had it going... First of all, does it get any cooler than Freddie or the Shark? These guys have been making golf cool since the 80's. Both guys showed why they are icons this week. Freddie kind of kicked it around on Sunday, but nothing beats that syrupy swagger. Norman really seems in a good place for Augusta and after Birkdale last year it really does feel possible that although Sunday at the Masters will be Bear-free - there may be a Shark lurking out there with Tiger. Norman would look dapper in a paper bag, but I like how he kept the trousers flat-fronted in Texas and I loved the white and blue on day 2. Very steely. Just where he needs to be.
