Early Apparel Buzz in 2010...

- Louis Wolcott - formally Global Brand Manager of J. Lindeberg Golf - has been tapped to launch the new Slazenger Heritage Collection at selected prestigious accounts throughout Europe for autumn/winter 2010.
The first collection is focused on 1970's and 1980's inspired classics as famously worn by Seve Ballesteros. (See above.)
The clothing has been modernized with a contemporary slim fit, high quality Italian fabrics and fine detailing.

Peter Millar hires Todd Martin, one of the founders of Fairway and Greene, as President of its golf division, effective today. Martin will run the golf sales and strategic partnerships for PM going forward... With a proven leader on the golf side, will this free up other team members to focus on the ever-expanding menswear side of PM? Time will tell...

- Stopped into the J. Lindeberg showroom today and checked out the 2010 fall stuff. Some really unique pieces in there - a gray-and-white houndstooth down jacket comes to mind and a new, slimmer trouser cut, the Damon, which is looking especially fantastic. Too much orange for my taste in the collection, but the other colors, deep navy and bold red, are clean and pair well. Very cool webbed-nylon versions of the popular Slater belts also were standouts and look for organic, washed-cotton cardigans and v-necks... More to come...

Well played KC, on lifting the spirits of golfers everywhere. Snow covered practice grounds leave us no option but to trawl magazines, sites and blogs for a golf fix of some kind. And there you are, finger on the pulse! Love it.

Hopefully 2010 will bring a redesign to the Lindeberg online store. Pretty sad they have such a meager online presence. Lots of items on their site are unavailable to purchase, and those that are have very limited size choices.

Slazenger's retro/modern rebirth is hot on the heels of similar projects from the likes of Fred Perry and Lyle & Scott. William Hunt's golf apparel has a distinct old school look about it too. Maybe we should be looking back to the future in 2010?

Nobody rocked a Slazenger V neck like Seve! But hey, I don't mind giving it a go. Diesel jeans and Chuck Taylor's off the course. A solid navy ensemble, with white collar and shoes on it. Homage to the great man himself. . .Is that a tear in my eye?

Very interested in the Slazenger line! Could be very cool.

Also looking forward to some pictures or a website update from JL. Any idea when we will be able to see what you've seen KC? Thanks

I totally agree with your guys concerns with what JL provides to customers via their webstore. The US webstore, specifically, is rarely updated and the selection and outdatedness is just plain awful. I'm going to do my best to address that with them... FP - as far as seeing the new stuff, I can share photos with you, but they probably wouldn't be happy with me posting them online yet. Send me a side email... -Sean

Interesting to see Fairway & Greene losing staff to Peter Millar. Millar's recent trajectory has been nothing but up, while Fairway's has been flat to faltering.

Love the Seve images. I've been using the same ones from that era for my trend boards for the last two seasons.
