Abu Dhabi Style

(Photos the sole property of Getty Images)

The Euros (and quite a few international stars) are in the desert this week for the Abu Dhabi Championship. On display, here, are some of the more crisp and clean sartorial achievements we've seen recently - probably because we've been watching the Sony Open... snooze... It's nice to see a full field of some of the world's best looking sharp.

A few notes: Liking Geoff Ogilvy in those TM pants - big improvement with respect to fit - the tailoring is perfect in the back... Chris Wood fearlessly rocks 2 of the dominant colors in JL's spring 2010 gear... Camilo being Camilo - looking forward to seeing him in the new JL stuff, he needs to get back in the brights... Soren Kjeldsen cuts a striking silhouette in Puma... Henrik Stenson may have the best-fitting trousers in the game today...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But Chris Wood's clothing is unbranded, with the exception of his belt. His waist is adorned with a JL buckle. Wood is from the same stable as Westwood and McIlroy. Expect random sponsors to follow on every available space as his stock rises.

i agree with the players you have highlighted but comment must be made on some of the less well dressed players, first Sergio Garcia looked like a bad ice cream seller with his awful white strides and pink top, next Rory Mcilroy is taking style tips from Lee Westwood and lastly i am sad to say is Ian Poulter who with his full colour coordinated number even down to his glove is reeking of trying to hard, style should appear effortless.....

Thanks guys.

Anon - I know Wood is unbranded, but he's wearing JL's spring stuff. The red, green and electric blue is the new palette and that pant cut is the new Damon.

My bad. In this shot it looks like a Troyan or Troon pant on Wood. Definitely polyester. You can see the JL logo.

Anon #2 - I agree on Rory. He loves to do the white pant, white belt with the striped polo in odd colors. It never looks right...

KC I give you Wood's Pants, but his shirts never! He has had them on for the last 3 days. they're awful, not even long enough to stay in his trousers. The boy is for sale to the highest bidder! Another pro to fall victim of greedy management and a lack of class.

At the end of the day tour players don't care about style, only the size of the pay cheque. Sad but true. whoever pays the bills are the best, most stylish brand ever. It's all bull***t. They would sell their grandmothers for the right price. Pro golf stinks!

If Ogilvy is a good cloths horse for a new golf brand I wonder who they think their customer is because its nobody I know. Good player, not arguing about that! But he is never going to sell me anything he is wearing...
